Natalie and Liam had an amazing Stirk House spring wedding back in May. They both live local to me so we hit it right off when we met to discuss their wedding plans.
I love shooting weddings at Stirk House, the light in the reception room is wonderful and they also have the legendary Dave who makes sure the day runs smoothly, he is always such a pleasure to work with.
Bride & Groom Prep At Stirk House
Both Natalie and Liam were getting ready at Stirk House on the day of the wedding. Natalie looked like a superstar getting ready in front of her Hollywood glow vanity mirror. The girls were so excited as they were getting ready for the day ahead. I made my way to Liam’s room where he was getting ready with his best man and ushers.
I wasn’t surprised to see the Jäger bottle make an appearance at such an early time in the day, these Bolton lads don’t mess about. Great thinking by Liam as he came into the room with towels for them all to wrap around their necks so they didn’t spill any of the Jäger bombs over their suits.
By this time Natalie and the girls had moved into the bridal suite for makeup. Natalie looked amazing in her wedding dress and the look on her Dad’s face as he saw her wearing it for the first time was just a joy to capture.
Laughter & Lots Of Tears
What a beautiful ceremony Natalie and Liam had at Stirk House. Liam cried, then Natalie cried, then all the guests cried, I cried, we all cried! Not a dry eye in the house. We sure laughed too when the registrar called Liam “Gary” (I think it was Gary she said) Still, it made for great photographs and everybody was in great spirits. After they had tied the knot, everyone made their way outside through a shower of confetti for drinks and canapés.
Wedding Singer
The newly weds made their way into the room to stamps of feet and cheering. Natalie downed her shot just as Paul Guard started entertaining everybody with his interactive performing. His energy is amazing, he got everybody involved with singing and dancing. It really is fantastic to capture the energy he throws out. Everybody was in the mood to party.
Amazing speeches from the father of the bride, the groom and best man. The best man took it pretty easy on his pal, which I am sure he appreciated.
A Walk Around The Grounds
We managed to sneak Natalie and Liam away for 15 minutes for some photos of them alone together. The sun was beginning to set and the light was just beautiful. We had a walk around the grounds of Stirk House before making our way inside for the evening reception.
First Dance And Party
Dave give them a grand entrance back into the room as they had their first dance to Paul Guards amazing guitar playing. Is there anything this man can’t do?
More shots got downed and before long the dance floor was packed with everyone partying the night away.
Such a fantastic wedding with an incredible couple. Natalie has recently told me that she is expecting a baby which is amazing news, she’s even considering naming her/him after me. No going back on your word now Nat! ;)
Stirk House Weddings
With ivy clad walls standing for nearly 400 years and a crackling fireplace Stirk House has been welcoming guests since 1933. It is surrounded by beautiful views of the Ribble Valley with gardens and and a rustic woodland. The reception room has sky lights that light the room beautifully, with white drapes hanging from the ceiling. The team are always on hand to make sure the day is running smoothly and as mentioned, they have Dave who I absolutely love working with, the guy is a legend!
