Shropshire Wedding Photography for Emily and James’s fantastic wedding in Pontesbury and Shrewsbury.

After a few phone calls we arranged to meet up with Emily and James in the city centre of Manchester. James is in the RAF and Emily is a vet so both have very busy eventful lives. They described at the meet up that James and the guys would be in full uniform for the wedding. This was very exciting for us as we have never photographed a military wedding before. We hit it off instantly! The deli board and beers were going down rather well whilst discussing their big plans. They both also liked the idea of a pre-wedding photo-shoot (which can be viewed here) in Chester.

On the morning of the wedding we made our way down to Shropshire. What a stunning part of the country! It was a cold November day, but the sun was shining bright. We got some shots of Emily with her Mum and bridesmaids getting ready at their family home, before making our way to the pub to meet the boys.

The service at St George’s Church in Pontesbury was just beautiful, lots of tears and laughter, then a few more tears.. “I said I wouldn’t cry!” said James during the service, which was met with even more tears and laughter.

James had a fantastic idea of visiting Moreton Corbet Castle on the way to the officers mess in Shrewsbury for the reception. The castle remains date back 500 years and made for a fantastic backdrop for wedding photos.

The speeches after the wedding breakfast were just hilarious. Emily’s Mum and the best man had everybody in stitches and had James with his head in his hands for most part.

The party really did get into full swing with the superb Soul and Motown band AP Band getting everybody onto the dance floor.

Such a wonderful day with the best couple you could wish to meet. We wish them all the happiness in the world.
