Been a while since I blogged a pre-wedding shoot. I don’t get to do them as much as I used to as I’m busy shooting weddings at weekends when most couples are free. I had such a great time with Claire and Stuart. They are massively into music as I am myself. We arranged to meet at The Soup Kitchen for a beer before hitting the streets. I’ll be blogging their insane Ashton Memorial and Lancaster Brewery wedding so do stay tuned for that.
Pre Wedding Shoots
I do love pre-wedding shoots. It really is a great way to get to know each other before the big day and if you are not used to having a camera pointed at you, it’s the perfect way to get some practice in before the big day.
I do approach these shoots in a totally different way than I would a wedding. During a wedding you have so much going on, surrounded with friends and family, so I can just capture everything that’s going on in a totally natural way. Pre-wed’s are a little different as there is only the 3 of us, so I do need to direct a lot more than I normally would need. It gives us chance to get really creative and you end up with some really cool photos from the shoot.
Northern Quarter
Without a doubt, I love pre-wedding shoots in the city centre and there is nowhere better than Manchester in my opinion. Both Castlefield and the NQ have so much character, every corner you turn has another great photo opportunity.
The Northern Quarter has some amazing graffiti art dotted down each street. The huge art displays on the wall change quite often too so we always have a different backdrop when we return.
