What a stunning lakeside wedding at The Belsfield Hotel on Windermere in the Lake District. Louise and Paul pulled out all the stops for their wedding. This was my first visit to the Laura Ashley hotel and it did not disappoint.
Bridal Preparations Overlooking Lake Windermere
I met Louise and her bridesmaids on an incredibly sunny morning at The Belsfield Hotel. Everybody was in great spirits as the Prosecco poured and the bridesmaids peeped through the hotel window at guests arriving at the hotel. The room had an incredible view of Lake Windermere and made the perfect backdrop.
We paid a little visit to the groom Paul who was getting ready with his boys and best man down the hall. They all looked very dapper indeed in their suits.
Back at the bridal room, Louise looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. The look on her Dad’s face said it all as her saw her wearing her dress for the first time as he walked into the room.
A Lively Belsfield Hotel Ceremony
Paul could not contain the tears as he saw his bride walk down the aisle with their lads and Dad. The tears quickly turned into fits of laughter when the registrar asked Paul to repeat his full name. I don’t think many of his friends had known his middle name before this moment and the waves of laughter rolled throughout all the guests. Don’t worry Paul, I wont repeat it on here buddy but it certainly made for great photographs. The vows were sealed with a kiss and the newly weds made their way outside through a shower of confetti as husband and wife.
Magic In the Lake District
The sun was beaming outside on the lawns of The Belsfield Hotel. Honestly I do not think I have seen a sunnier day in this country. We made our way down the beautiful gardens for a few formal group shots before making our way back to up to the hotel where the guests were being thrilled to the outstanding magic of Sam Fitton.
After a good few drinks outside The Belsfield, everyone made their way back inside to take their seats for speeches and food. Not before Sam blew Louise and Paul away with his grand finale.
Tears & Laughter During The Speeches
After Sam had mesmerised the guests with his magic, it was time for the speeches. Paul couldn’t keep the tears from flowing again when talking about his wife Louise. He was soon joined by pretty much every one else as napkins quickly became tear dabbers.
The best man’s speech got every body in hysterics again with tales of old about Paul and the mischief they had got up to growing up together.
Sunset On Lake Windermere
As the sun set and we were graced by the beautiful light that us photographers refer to as the “golden hour” We had a stroll down by Lake Windermere to get some lovely photographs of Louise and Paul together. As we started walking back towards the hotel Paul shouted “it’s a dog in a basket!” and sure enough when we turned round, there was a man pushing a dog in yep, a basket! A very strange but equally funny experience!
Old School Rave At The Belsfield
It was time for the party to really kick in. The legend that is Andy Murphy graced the decks as everybody entered the room for the first dance. All 17 seconds of it, before 2 Funky 2 – Brothers And Sisters got dropped and the dance floor was soon packed to a wonderful set of old school 90’s anthems. Fair to say I was right in my element!
Absolutely smashing day that brought my summer of weddings in 2019 to a perfect end. Roll on Autumn!
“Thank you so much Ally! The pictures have captured our perfect day perfectly! Everybody laughing all day long. We love every single picture”
