Oh how I have been dying to share this incredible Inn At Whitewell Wedding of Laura & Gary. What a day, what a party!
Laura and Gary both live in London and brought lots of their friends and family up North to the Inn At Whitewell in the Forest of Bowland, Clitheroe.
A Sunny October Inn At Whitewell Wedding
We met Laura and her bridesmaids at The Piggesries cottage which is located at the side of The Inn At Whitewell. After getting a few photographs of Laura having her make up applied we went to meet Gary who was getting ready upstairs with his son Jordan and best man. They ordered a couple of drinks and managed to get dressed in record time. All looking very dapper indeed. We had a little suit malfunction when Jordan’s button had fallen off his suit. No panic, as if from magic, Gary whipped a needle and thread out from god knows where and sewed the button back on.
We made our way back to Laura just as she was getting into her beautiful Heidi Hudson wedding dress. The time had come for her to meet her groom to be at the alter. St Michael’s church had some amazing light that was shining through the windows directly on Laura during the ceremony. It really was a beautiful setting.
After the ceremony, we made our way to The Inn At Whitewell to begin the celebrations. The sun was shining but there was a brisk October chill in the air. We got some really great photographs of the newly weds around the grounds. Both naturals of course, I mean how cool do they look on their photographs? I did manage to get a shot next to the river from the balcony outside the wedding marquee. I did constantly need correcting by Laura as I kept calling the river a lake for some reason. :/
Incredible Party At The Inn At Whitewell
The party started with a bang! Wayne Farrow was the wedding singer and oh my did he get everybody involved. He had everybody up singing with their torches lit on their phones. Guests banging spoons on tables, it got so loud I’m sure they could hear it from miles around. The marquee was bouncing right from the off. The girl vs boys sing off’s were really fun to photograph. Nobody had a care in the world. It has to be said, those southerners really do know how to party. ;)
We loved every minute of Laura and Gary’s wedding, it really did have it all. Also a huge congratulations to them both on the arrival of their baby boy. Amazing times ahead.
The Inn At Whitewell
Set in the Forest Of Bowland, next to the River Hodder, The Inn At Whitewell has instantly become one of my favourite venues to photograph weddings. A 16th century rural inn that is surrounded by stunning Lancashire countryside. Everything is in close proximity, from the Piggeries cottage where the bride can stay the night before, to St Michael’s church that is right on the inn’s doorstep.
The marquee for the wedding breakfast and reception has views of the River Hodder. Glass doors that open up into a lovely garden and a very stylish black and white dancefloor to party the night away. The pub which is open to the public is known to serve the best fish pie around which I will be sure to try next time I’m there. The Inn At Whitewell is the perfect countryside venue for a wedding.
