Hidden River Cabins Wedding | Katie & Chris

What a wonderful Hidden River Cabins Wedding it was for Katie & Chris. As the plans began to unfold, we just got more and more excited about this wedding.

Katie and Chris moved to my neck of the woods on a whim when they saw a house that they fell in love with when visiting a friend. I knew then that these two were going to be amazing.

Wedding Day Hidden River Cabins

As we nearly arrived at this amazing venue, we could see the top of the PapaKåta tipi in the distance. More often than not in the Lake District it rains, and today was no exception. No way this could dampen this amazing day.

We met Katie at the fabulous Hidden River log cabin where everybody was sat down for a hearty breakfast. Chris and the guys were getting ready further up the road. Everybody was in great spirits for the day ahead.

Katie and Chris had a Humanist wedding ceremony conducted by the amazing Charlotte Pennefather in the packed tipi. I absolutely love a Humanist ceremony at a wedding. It gives such a true representation of the couple, a personal touch that means so much to both them and everyone who knows them. Such a lovely experience that had everybody involved, including an hilarious song from a few of their guests. Everybody were in hysterics laughing.

Mr Wilson’s Second Liners

As Katie and Chris walked back up the aisle as newly weds, everyone was greeted to the amazing sounds of the incredible Mr Wilson’s Second Liners. We were so excited when we were told that these guys would be playing at the wedding. “New Orleans meets 90″s club classics”  Dressed in their Sargent Peppers attire, this band rock some of the best tunes from the 90’s in a traditional New Orleans Second Line style. Absolutely incredible energy, you have to check them out if you haven’t heard of these guys before.

Pie Mash And A Wicked Party

The rain had finally stopped so we had a little walk around the stunning surroundings with the newly weds and the wonderful Lawson’s who were on video. A few natural shots of Katie and Chris alone, it was time to get this party into full swing. People had traveled from all over the world to attend with a lot of friends and family coming from London. Pie and Mash was obviously the food of choice.

The speeches were just amazing, so many great stories of both Katie and Chris and how they met. It was now time for the second band of the day, Sega & The Boombox. Again paying homage to the greatest decade of all time, the 90’s! Candi Staton – You’ve Got The Love played as Katie and Chris had their first. dance. A huge confetti explosion and everybody joined them on the dance floor, and never left that dance floor throughout the night, it was packed, filled with huge smiles, amazing moves and glitter!

I just love this part of a wedding, everybody is used to me and my camera by this stage and I really get stuck in there getting the best expressions from people.

What a day, what a wedding. It was such a pleasure to be part of it.

Hidden River Cabins

Hidden River Cabins is the perfect location for a stunning alternative wedding. The surroundings of the woods and river are the perfect back drop for a wonderful day. They have 5 log cabins that are situated in beautiful Cumbrian countryside and are all licenced to hold weddings. There is also lots of space to hire a tipi/marquee. They can help with any aspect of wedding big or small. We will definitely be hiring one of the cabins for a family weekend break soon.
