It was such a pleasure to photograph Sophie an Oliver’s Delamere Manor Wedding in October last year. We arranged a Skype call to chat about their big day, and I knew right then that this was going to be a wedding to remember. Sophie is originally from my home town of Bolton, and now lives in Leeds with Oliver. I loved the idea of people traveling from all over to celebrate the wedding of Sophie and Oliver in such a beautiful venue.
A Venue With The X Factor
This was my first Delamere Manor wedding and it did not disappoint. Set by a lake and surrounded by over 100 acres of stunning countryside Delamere Manor is one of Cheshire’s most luxurious wedding venues. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was the former home of Take That star Gary Barlow. It would be a lovely experience to have a wedding here as it is just like being in a gorgeous home. Well more of a manor than a home, but you get all the comforts of being at home and not a hotel. You can gather with family is the kitchen in the morning before the days celebrations. The wedding breakfast and evening party are held in the huge glass fronted courtyard which has 100s of fairy lights that drape down from the ceiling. Delamere Manor even has a nightclub! Gary Barlow’s old recording studio has now been transformed into a sound proof club where you can party the night away into the late hours. They also have Dale, who is the events manager and makes sure that everything flows swimmingly throughout the day. It really does have it all.
A Beautiful St Bartholomew’s Church Ceremony
As I drove through the iron gates and made my way past the horse stables to meet Sophie and her family in the morning, I knew this was going to be a special day.
After getting some bridal preparation shots of Sophie and her family at the venue, I made my way St Bartholomew’s Church in Wilmslow, where Sophie and Oliver would tie the knot. I met Oliver at the church as he was greeting the wedding guests as they arrived. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony in a really stunning church. A big shout out to the vicar too who let me do my thing. I especially appreciate it when I get permission to get photos of the signing of the wedding certificate, and not have to stage a mock up version of it. It’s better to keep it all real in my eyes. :)
After the ceremony, everybody made their way back to Delamere Manor to celebrate.
Take That And Party
The grounds around the venue are huge so we got driven down to the lake on a golf buggy for photos of Sophie and Oliver alone together. I like to keep this part of the day very natural. We had a little walk down to and overlooking the lake and got some really beautiful photographs of the newly weds together.
Back at the venue we had the pleasure to hear some really heart felt and hilarious speeches. As they turned the room around for the evening party, the guests got chance to gather in different parts of Delamere Manor. I just love the relaxed setting this venue offers, sitting in the kitchen or hanging around the outside bar.
Everybody lit their sparklers and surrounded Sophie and Oliver for the first dance and everybody joined them on the dance floor for a very special daughter and father dance.
Hit The Dancefloor wedding band had set up in the nightclub for everybody to get chance to get those dance moves into action.
Sophie & Oliver’s wedding had it all. It was a huge pleasure to be part of their special day. I wish them both all the happiness in the world! X
