Colshaw Hall Wedding Photography

Colshaw Hall is one of my favourite venues in the North West to Photograph weddings. So I was absolutely thrilled when Abby & Alex asked me to be their wedding photographer for their Colshaw Hall wedding.

A Stunning Spring Wedding At Colshaw Hall

I met Abby and her bridesmaids at The Irlam Lodge on the day of the wedding before everybody made their way to the main house for bridal preparations and finishing touches by the very talented Jodie A Smith. Alex and the boys were getting ready on site at The Den, a very cool space for the lads to get ready. (They have a table tennis table!)

Alex had a little gift for his 98 best men, (slight exaggeration) little bobble-headed figures that resembled every one of them perfectly! Definitely, the best group photo I have ever taken! See below!

Abby and Alex had a note and gifts for each other that had most of the girls in tears and the boys holding theirs back as much as possible.

Abby looked absolutely stunning in her Enzoani wedding dress, it was time to get this show on the road!

Colshaw Hall Wedding Ceremony In The Stables

Alex waited patiently with his best men at the top of the aisle as the bridesmaids made their appearance followed by Abby and her dad who walked her down the aisle.

It was a really lovely ceremony at the Colshaw Hall with Abby and Alex surrounded by their nearest and dearest and was congratulated in a shower of confetti as they walked out of The Stables together as husband and wife.

Drinks Reception And Lawn Games

After the wedding ceremony, everybody gathered in the walled garden for drinks and an intense game of giant connect 4. The weather was absolutely beautiful, a perfect spring day!

Breakfast & Speeches In The Peel Suite

I absolutely love this part of a wedding day, the speeches! As a natural wedding photographer, I strive to capture as much emotion as possible throughout the day, and the speeches are packed with emotion in abundance!

The father of the bride kicked things off with a great speech that really did have everyone in stitches, followed by Alex who told us the lovely story of his and Abby’s relationship. Two of Alex’s best men gave a very impressive speech to wrap up the speeches just in time for food by the fabulous Barrets catering.

A Walk Around The Japanese Gardens at Colshaw Hall

After the wedding breakfast and the sun gave us its best light, we sneaked Abby and Alex off for a little walk around the Japanese Gardens at Colshaw Hall and give them a moment away to take it all in.

On a normal wedding day schedule this part is normally done after the ceremony and group photos, I prefer to wait until the light is at its best for couple portraits. Later in the day when the sun is a bit lower in the sky, it gives us the most flattering light, with no squinting eyes or harsh shadows across the face.

Party Time – Wedding At Colshaw Hall

I do love this part of a wedding, the party!! Just love a packed dance floor with people singing their hearts out and throwing shapes they never knew they had in them until that point.

Abby and Alex took centre stage as they danced together to their song. They were soon joined on the dance floor with their guests as the band played classics into the night.

Such a fantastic day with a really lovely couple, I wish them all the happiness in the world. Thanks so much for having me there on your big day.

“Oh my gosh Ally! We’re lost for words, wow just wow!! The photos are everything we hoped for and so much more! Thank you so so much for taking the time to send them over so fast, we are absolutely over the moon!

Colshaw Hall Wedding Venue

Colshaw Hall is a stunning, exclusive wedding venue in the heart of Cheshire that was built in 1903. The Grade II listed hall is located on a private country estate and has been beautifully restored by the Irlam family.

Colshaw Hall has a few options for accommodation. The Irlam Lodge is the newest addition to Colshaw Hall. It is ideal for the bride, family, and friends to stay in the night before, or for the bride and groom on the night of the wedding if they are not taking the main house. It also provides further guest accommodation. It is located at the entrance to the country estate.

The Hall (main house) has luxurious 6 guest bedrooms, a bridal suite, 3 reception rooms, an orangery, and a kitchen. Perfect for your wedding party to gather, drink prosecco and get ready for the big day ahead.

The Den is the perfect lad pad for the groom and the boys to get ready.

Ceremonies are held in The Stables which is located on the other side of the Japanese gardens and lake. The Stables are complete with beautiful oak beams and marble flooring. You also have the option of an outdoor ceremony between April and October. The Magnolia Garden and the Walled Gardens are amazing spots for an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting).

The wedding breakfast and reception are held in the magnificent Peel Suite. which overlooks beautiful walled gardens. A really great space for a party with family and friends!

Colshaw Hall is one of the most luxurious and exclusive wedding venues in Cheshire. They have a fantastic team that will make sure you have the most perfect day. Definitely, one of my favourite venues in the North West to photograph weddings.

Colshaw Hall Reviews

***** “After viewing 15 different venues and travelling further afield than originally planned, we found Colshaw Hall and well, we are SO pleased that we chose it for our wedding venue; it was absolutely perfect! We fell in love as soon as we looked round, during the wedding day there were so many comments from guests about what a stunning and picturesque place it was. We had an outdoor ceremony which was everything we hoped it would be and more, the Peel Suite looked breath-taking and was a magical place for us to have our wedding breakfast!

All of the staff were incredible, so attentive, positive, friendly and helpful, they did everything they could to make it perfect for us! David, Tracey, Malcolm and Caitlin in particular went the extra mile to make the experience special and were so flexible and accommodating!

Huge huge huge huge thanks to you all! We highly recommend Colshaw Hall!”

***** “Lovely venue for a wedding. Good food and brilliant service from all of the staff.”
