What a magical Beeston Manor Wedding in Lancashire Shelley & Gary had back in October 2018. I am blogging like a man possessed lately. It feels great being able to relive these fantastic weddings I get the pleasure of capturing. This wedding was no exception. We loved meeting Shelley and Gary to discuss everything. They are fellow Boltonians who live literately round the corner from us.
Beeston Manor
Multi award winning Beeston Manor is a wonderful wedding venue. I have photographed many weddings here, the photo opportunities are endless. It’s a family run business set in Hoghton near Preston in a beautifully converted 16th Century barn. With 140 acres of land and panoramic views it really is a stunning venue for weddings both small and large. Oh, and the food here is delicious!
The Wedding
It was a beautiful sunny day on the day of the wedding. We met Shelley at their home in Bolton who was getting ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls. They had hired two camper vans to take them to Beeston Manor. Shelley turned up with a huge smile on her face. Gary held the nerves together waiting for her at the bottom of the aisle. It was such a beautiful ceremony. The love these two have for each other was clear for everybody to see and it was such a joy to capture the moments they shared together. After the ceremony and many congratulations from everybody, we managed to escape for a little drive together in the camper van.
Natural Photographs
When it comes to getting photographs of the bride and groom together I still try to keep them as natural as possible. We go for a walk together and I find a nice backdrop and just let the couple be themselves. Some couples are naturally romantic and some just like to have a laugh. I don’t want to change that natural relationship they have. I want the photos of them together to reflect exactly how they are with each other. Another important factor for me is the light. During the afternoon I felt the light was just too harsh for couple photographs so I waited until after their meal to go for a walk around the gardens. I do this a lot during mid summer weddings, I wait till the sun has dipped down and that creates a such nicer light. I only need 10-20 minutes to get these photographs so they can spend the day and evening celebrating with loved ones.
A beautiful day
It really was. I do not think I have ever seen a bride smile so much. Shelley took in every second. The word “LOVE” in the dictionary should have a picture of Shelley and Gary underneath it. As the sun set, the legendary Andy Murphy got the evening party in full flow. He even dropped an old school rave set which got everybody up. We loved every minute of Shelley and Gary’s wedding and best of all, we have come away with two new friends.
Drinks soon guys! X
