Askham Hall Wedding Photography with Amber & Youl. Oh my, where to start with this beautiful wedding. From the moment I got a phone call from Amber asking us to photograph their wedding in the Lake district, I knew this was going to be something very special. We arranged to meet at a bar in the centre of Manchester a couple of weeks before the big day. We went through our albums and had a chat about their wedding plans. We instantly hit it off and couldn’t wait to capture their big day.

Askham Hall

Askham Hall is a stunning venue set in the beautiful lake district. The gardens around the venue seem to go on forever. The photograph opportunities are endless. There is a lovely little church just 5 minutes walk away where Amber and Youl would tie the knot. Wedding guests can mingle on the lawn before the wedding celebrations that take place in the Bank Barn at the side of the venue. Askham Hall is instantly one of our favourite wedding venues.

A Beautiful Wedding

We arrived at Askham Hall on the day of the wedding. Amber & Youl stayed at the venue the evening before and were getting ready in separate rooms. We got some great shots of them both getting ready before making our way to the church. Youl had lots of family over from France for their wedding. There was great feeling in the church with the fantastic gospel choir singing as guests entered the church. After a beautiful ceremony Amber and Youl danced their way back up the aisle as husband and wife. Even the vicar got involved with the dancing.

Back at the venue the wedding guest had drinks and canapes on the lawn in the glorious sunshine, followed by food and some hilarious speeches in the barn.

Party Time

The Fusion Dukes absolutely rocked the barn. They had everyone on the danc efloor throwing shapes. The craziest light was shining through the windows and doors to the barn that spread across the dance floor. Such a beautiful wedding with a fantastic couple, it really was a joy to be part of it.
