Excited to share this Ashfield House Wedding Photography Blog with you all.
“We are not a Manor, Hall, or Castle. We are not a Barn, Hotel, or Estate, we are ASHFIELD HOUSE”
Ashfield House is located in Standish, Wigan. A country house that was originally built in 1755 and after a few extensions and renovations it is now a multi-award-winning wedding venue.
Couples are able to take over exclusively for their wedding day, so it’s like a grand home away from home. Ashfield House is a family-run business and they work with couples to make their wedding unique to them. In the heart of the venue is the Grand Hallway which branches out to different rooms in the house.
The gardens at Ashfield House are a lovely backdrop for photographs. They also have a raised terrace, perfect for mingling during the drinks and evening reception.
One of the best things about Ashfield House is the team! They work tirelessly to make sure you have the best wedding day. The food at Ashfield is beautiful. They look after their suppliers which is always nice.
It’s no surprise that they win countless awards for their stunning venue and fantastic team.
Bridal Prep At Ashfield House
Emma & Alex booked me in the height of lockdown. It’s amazing that people were looking beyond all the madness and still booking for brighter days ahead. And a bright day is exactly what we got for their beautiful wedding at Ashfield House.
I met Emma and the team bride on the morning of the wedding getting ready in The Sitting Room. Such a lovely room for bridal prep before the big day ahead.
There was a lovely breakfast spread on offer that the flower girls were getting stuck into.
Emma looked amazing in her Clare Suzanne wedding dress as the sun was shining through the window of the bridal suite.
Church Wedding Ceremony At St Mary’s
The ceremony was to take place at St Mary’s church in Horwich Bolton. We met Alex at the church as he was greeting guests as they arrived. He was soon joined by his wife to be at the bottom of the aisle.
The flower girls were in top form throughout. One of them managed to sneak onto the alter to try and blow out a couple of candles. Kids at weddings are always up to something! Makes for great photos though!
Couple Portraits At Ashfield House
After a lovely ceremony, everybody made their way to Ashfield House to celebrate the marriage in style.
After Emma & Alex walked through probably the most confetti I have ever seen in my life, we managed to sneak them away for 15 minutes alone for some lovely natural portraits around the grounds at Ashfield House.
Food & Speeches at Ashfield House
After an absolutely delicious meal, the speeches got underway. The speeches were great! An emotional speech from Emma’s brother was followed by the groom and his 2 best men. (also brothers)
The usual one or two tables made it a bit of a challenge for Alex during his speech but he handled them excellently. I think he knew what was coming beforehand!
Dancing The Night Away
As the sun began to set on what was a beautiful day, Emma and Alex had a lovely first dance together and were soon joined on the dance floor to party the night away.
Emma and Alex had booked my extended package so I got to photograph the really fun parts of a wedding that not many people get to see when looking at wedding photos online. I do love this part of a wedding. Everybody in great spirits with bellies full of food and heads full of alcohol whilst singing their hearts out to all the classics!
Fantastic day with a really lovely couple. Huge congratulations Emma & Alex X
