Armathwaite Hall Wedding | Lake District

Wedding Day At Armathwaite Hall

A stunning Armathwaite Hall wedding in Keswick, The Lake District. It was an absolute pleasure working with Dale and Rachael of Dale Alexander Events. I love photographing weddings in The Lake District and Armathwaite Hall does not disappoint, the views around this venue are just stunning!

Kayla was getting ready in the bridal suite at Armathwaite Hall on the day of her wedding to Chris. Chris and the boys also had a room at the venue so it gave me the opportunity to capture both bridal and groom preparations. The bridal suite has magnificent views of Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding hills and countryside.
Kayla applied the finishing touches of her makeup before putting on her beautiful wedding dress and her father walked her down the grand staircase at Armathwaite Hall and down the aisle to her husband to be.

Wedding Ceremony In The Lake View Lounge

Chris had his friend William conduct the blessing ceremony in the Lake View Lounge of Armathwaite Hall and oh my it got emotional! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house whilst William was doing his reading, even William himself could not hold back the tears. It’s not too bad for me as I can hide my face behind the camera when it gets a tad emotional.

Both Kayla and Chris had readings of their own for each other. They both read out beautiful words to each other as more tears started to flow from guests watching on. I managed to capture a tear rolling down the cheek of Chris’s dad as he watched on smiling. These are definitely the moments I strive to capture at weddings.

A Walk Around Armathwaite Hall

After a lovely ceremony, Kayla and Chris made their way back up the aisle together and were soon greeted by guests and a shower of confetti. After a few group photos, I sneak the newlyweds away for a walk around the gorgeous grounds at Armathwaite Hall.

A Speech From The Bride

There were a few speeches before the wedding breakfast, the groom and best man of course, and a beautiful speech from the bride in her native language of Vietnamese. I do love a break from tradition and I am definitely seeing more and more brides give speeches on their big day. More bride and best women speeches at weddings please!

Armathwaite Hall Wedding With Stunning Views

As the team turned the room around for the evening reception, we decided to have another walk around the grounds at Armathwaite Hall, I mean, how could you not? We made our way inside Armathwaite Hall for a few couples portraits and then I let Kayla and Chris just have a walk together alone.
As I walked around the corner of the venue and the view of the lake and mountains opened up, I got a lovely photo of the couple walking from behind. The view of the lake and surrounding countryside with the couple perfectly framed in the middle. It’s one of my favourite couple photographs I have taken.

Dancing & Shots!

No Armathwaite Hall wedding is complete without a good party! Kayla and Chris cut their wedding cake before having their first dance surrounded by friends and family. It wasn’t long before the tequilas made an appearance, and I just could not believe how many were being downed! The Vietnamese sure know how to party, and more importantly, how to handle their drink!
Everyone made their way outside and made a tunnel of sparklers for Kayla and Chris.

An absolutely beautiful Armathwaite Hall wedding for Kayla and Chris. Thanks so much to Dale Alexander Events for putting it all together. I hope you enjoy the Armathwaite Hall wedding photos that we captured.

Armathwaite Hall Wedding

Overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake in Keswick in the stunning Lake District, Armathwaite Hall is an idyllic venue for weddings big and small. Surrounded by 400 acres of deer park and woodland and framed by the dramatic Skiddaw Mountain and Lake District Fells. A perfect backdrop for Armathwaite Hall wedding photos.

Armathwaite Hall has four different ceremony venues to choose from.

The Estate Office Room: has beautiful views of the lake and is ideal for intimate ceremonies with up to 20 guests. It is also great for elopements so if you require a private ceremony just for the two of you, Armathwaite Hall can provide one of their duty managers to act as a witness.

Lake View Lounge: With amazing views of Bassenthwaite Lake, this room is a popular choice for weddings hosting up to 90 guests. It leads onto the garden terrace, which is great for the drinks receptions.

Lime Trees Suite & Broadwater Suite: The Lime Trees Suite has extravagant chandeliers and offers a more modern feel for wedding ceremonies with views across the gardens. The Broadwater Suite is the perfect spot for larger ceremonies. With its large windows leading onto the outside terrace that overlooks the perfectly manicured gardens. This room can accommodate up to 150 people.

Outdoor Gazebo: The beautiful setting of the outdoor Woodland Gazebo, is perfect for an outdoor ceremony. With seating for up to 100 guests, it really captures the essence of a true Lakeland wedding.

What makes an Armathwaite wedding so special is the incredible surroundings and endless views. A short walk to the lake makes for a glorious backdrop for photographs with views of the endless rolling hills and dramatic skies.
