A Summer Lancashire wedding with Jen & Neil at the Breightmet golf club in Bolton, Lancashire.
I was very excited about shooting this wedding as the groom is a very dear friend of mine who i have known for most of my life so this was very special.
There was a little worry as i would be surrounded by other close friends and trying to get into work mode with that rowdy lot could prove to be quite challenging.
So after an epic memorable (well some of it) stag do, the day had finally arrived and in the very predictable British fashion, it was raining.
Lucy and I made our way to Jen and Neil’s family home in Bolton to meet with Jen and her bridesmaids. Neil and the boys were only round the corner so we could go back and forth to get some shots of them all getting ready.
St Bede’s parish church is were Jen and Neil would become man and wife.
The vicar preferred if i did not take pictures during the ceremony and this does happen quite often but sometimes i just cannot help myself, wrong or right i have to sneak a couple of shots in. After the ceremony however the vicar was more than happy with me getting some shots of the newly weds signing the register.
After getting some formal’s outside the church we made our way to the venue by which this time the rain had cleared and we had some lovely skies up above.
Great speeches by Jen’s dad and Neil and a great speech from the best man Stewart which involved a story about Neil’s toenail :/ We even had a live skype call with our good friends who have recently emigrated to Australia
We managed to drag Jen and Neil away for a walk around the grounds and get some shots of them both together and then tne party really started and went on into the early hours. When us guys throw a party we do it proper ;)
Im so happy Neil chose us to be their wedding photographers, it was an honour and a privilege to be part of their spacial day. I wish them all the happiness in the world.
Here is their story….
FABULOUS, if I was getting married Ally you woul be my choice photographer.
