A Summer Colshaw Hall Wedding

Colshaw Hall Wedding

Colshaw Hall is a stunning wedding venue in Cheshire. A Grade II listed hall is located on a private country estate and has been beautifully restored by the Irlam family.

Ceremonies are held in The Stables which is located on the other side of the Japanese gardens and lake. The tables is complete with beautiful oak beams and marble flooring.

The wedding reception is held in the magnificent Peel Suite. which overlooks beautiful walled gardens.

Colshaw Hall is one of the most luxurious and exclusive wedding venues in Cheshire. They have a fantastic team that will make sure you have the most perfect day. Definitely one of my favourite venues in the U.K to photograph weddings.

What a fantastic Summer Colshaw Hall Wedding it was with Charlotte & Jamie last September. The sun was shining, the drinks were flowing and everybody was in the party mood.

From the moment Charlotte got in touch with me to book me to photograph her wedding at Colshaw Hall, I knew this was going to be a wedding day to remember.

Bridal Preparations And A Very Proud Dad

I arrived at Charlottes parents home in Wilmslow, Cheshire on the morning of the wedding. Charlotte and her bridesmaids had just returned from the hairdressers and started to get ready for the big day. The bridesmaids were all in great spirits around the kitchen table. The obligatory Prosecco was of course topping up their glasses.

Charlotte looked absolutely stunning in her Emma Hartley dress. The reaction of her Dad’s face was when he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time was just priceless! He looked so proud. Always such a special moment and it always crosses my mind that one day I will be the proud Dad looking at my girl for the first time in her dress one day.

A Beautiful Ceremony At Colshaw Hall

I arrived at the venue to see Jamie and the lads looking very dapper in their Scottish kilts. Jamie had lots of family and friends down from Scotland to celebrate their big day. The guests were seated in The Stables as Charlotte arrived in her wedding car.

Charlotte walked down the aisle to turning heads and met her husband to be. There were a few tears during the beautiful ceremony.

The love these two have for each other was such a pleasure the capture. They had a couple of readings from their guests and their vows were sealed with a kiss. The new Mr & Mrs MCcann walked back up the aisle together and through a shower of confetti.

A Walk Around The Stunning Grounds Of Colshaw Hall

After a couple of drinks and a few formal group shots around the gardens, we had a walk around the absolutely stunning grounds of Colshaw Hall. The Hall made the perfect backdrop as I got some natural photographs of Charlottle and Jamie together in the sunshine. We had some great laughs together as we walked across the lawns, such a fun couple, I feel like I have known them for years.

Laughs And Tears During The Speeches

Everybody was asked to stand in the Peel Suite as Ian the Toastmaster welcomed the newly weds back in the room to huge cheers and waves of napkins in the air.

The Father of the bride was traditionally the first one to take the microphone for his speech. What an amazing speech he gave. Lots of laughs and tears around the room. Jamie told of how he met Charlotte and their amazing adventure together when they lived in Australia. A few lovely words from Charlotte’s Maid Of Honour before it was the turn of the best man. He certainly had some back-up too from their Scottish pals, these lads don’t take no prisoners that’s for sure!

Some Alone Time As The Sun Goes Down

As the sun began to set on what had been the most perfect day, we took the opportunity to take another walk before madness of the evening reception began. I do love these moments between a couple. I like to keep it as natural as possible as I wouldn’t want anybody doing something they wouldn’t feel comfortable doing normally.

I think bringing out the true personality of a couple together will make their photographs more special.

First Dance & Dance Off’s

After cutting what was the most incredible wedding cake I have ever seen, it was time for Charlotte and Jamie to take centre stage for their first dance. They were soon joined by family and friends as the tempo raised and the craziness started to take hold of the night.

Some absolutely incredible dance off’s on the dance floor. I have not seen moves like that since I tried my hand at body popping back in the 80’s (not showing my age here at all) The band were blasting classics as Charlotte and her bridesmaid sang and danced the night away.

What a wedding, what a couple! I cant wait to get together with these two again for many beers when this Covid madness ends! X

Just read your blog, simply amazing! You have captured every part of our day and I relived every moment. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much Ally, and yes to beers when lockdown is finally over! Xxxxxxx
