I love shooting weddings at Bolton school, its one of the oldest schools in Lancashire and i think the origins of the school can be tracked back as far as the 1500’s. It really is a beautiful building, they should shoot the next Harry Potter film there :)
I have been looking forward to Lauren & Brads wedding ever since their epic Pre wedding shoot we did at Etwistle reservoir (which can be viewed here) And this one did not disappoint. The theme of the wedding was sweets and love.
All the girls were getting ready at Laurens mums house and Brad and the boys were getting ready at their home which is just over the road so it was easy going to and from Lauren and Brad.
Lauren looked amazing in her dress and took everybody’s breath away when she came down then stairs to her family, and the look on her dads face was a “picture” when he saw his little girl as he walked through the door.
A vintage bus took Brad and the guests to Bolton school and a classy Rolls Royce would take Lauren.
The ceremony which was held in the big hall was a mix of happy emotions, We was even joined live and direct from Canada by Laurens Aunty Lindsay thanks to an Ipad and some modern technology. Laurens mum Kath looked so proud, the relationship between these two is just so special to see.
So after the ceremony we all made our way to the courtyard to get some formal shots of family and friends before sneaking Lauren and Brad away to get some shots of the newly weds together.
Lauren had pulled out all the stops for entertainment for the kids with a big bouncy castle and lots of games scattered around the school grounds, now i say entertainment for the kids but i think the adults had a fair share of fun on these too. The bride and groom had a great laugh on the bouncy castle.
The room was done up fantastically with each table being named after a friend or family member but with a twist e.g “unlce joes mints”
The speeches got rather emotional especially when Laurens Dad made his speech, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The big surprise though was when brad unveiled his new tattoo dedicated to his new wife which read “Lauren Hesford, my heart is and always will be yours, you will forever be my girl.”
As the sun began to set on the day we managed to drag Lauren and Brad away again for some more shots of them together before getting them back for the party to end a perfect day.
What an amazing day and what an amazing family, who we now call our friends :)
